Hamsi Radhakrishnan
Neuroscientist

Hi! I am Hamsi (hum-see, she/her), a staff scientist in the BIND Lab at the University of Pennsylvania. I spend most of my time using MRI to understand how the structural properties of the brain change with age, disease, and cognitive differences. I primarily use diffusion-weighted imaging, a special kind of MRI that tracks the movement of water molecules, to non-invasively predict important neurobiological properties: like cell counts or connectivity. I am also passionate about science communication and outreach and am involved in many efforts to make STEM accessible and inclusive (please reach out if you're interested in doing an event with me!)
When I am not doing research or outreach, I enjoy poetry, the theatre, games of any kind, karaoke Fridays and making exclusively bad art.
